Dallas Morning News Reports Price High on Development

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Price is high on new development in the southern sector, and the Dallas County Commissioner is right on top of the Master Plan needed for this area. It is a shame that the City Council Cheeseheads of Wilmer dissed the Commissioner and his plan for the much needed infrastructure in the area at a recent council meeting. Click here to see the article.

The article goes on to infer that the Allen Group has been working against Dallas County, Commissioner Price and the entire area for their own interests, something we have been saying all along. What can that say about Tiny Lange, Matt Leal and the rest of the Cheeseheads?

Who has been here longer? Commisioner Price and Dallas County.
Who has more money? Allen Group.

Sounds alot like "Here's your brain, here's your brain on drugs", doesn't it? Do the math then.

What do you think?

With all the complaints against the current (and former) Council and Mayor, who voted them in? There were other people running for Council, why weren't they supported? If you have a candidate, get out and support him (her). Don't just take the easy way out and complain, complain, complain. There will be another election. Either run for office or support someone who will do a better job.

We are not sure yet. No one is saying anything at this point. We are trying to confirm a rumor about the issue remaining in negotiations at the present time, which would explain the silence.

Support For Participation in the Land Use Plan

We support participation in the Land Use Plan that Commissioner Price et al support and for which the City was ask to provide $1000. The City cannot afford not to participate. A private Contract of Annexation will cripple the City's ability to pick and choose what is best for the area as a whole---not what is best for the holder of the "Contract".

The Land Use plan that was presented by the Commissioner and NCTCOG gives the City a chance to approve, challenge, or expand on certain areas without being penalized or backed into a corner by the "Contract" party.

The Land Use Plan will provide for: Light Industry, Commercial, Office Parks, Retail Centers, Multi and Single Family Development along with amenities that will draw permanent residents into the area.

Is it really the $1000 required to participate that is preventing the City from adopting?

Or, are the rumors that are rampant not just rumors? Are decisions being made benefiting a few rather than the City as a whole. By "City", I mean all of its Citizens inside the City Limits and in its ETJ not the "elected few along with their friends and family."

Once again, if the reasons behind the decisions that are made in closed sessions, were clearly stated or explained in the open City Council Meeting before the vote, the rumors would go away. As long as there is secrecy or the perception of clandestine agreements made elsewhere besides City Hall, there will be rumors. The rumors need to stop so the City can benefit from the inevitable progress that is offered by the Comprehensive Land Use Plan that the County and NCTCOG are willing to fund with a little help from the City or the City runs the probability of being either deceived or mired in stagnation because of a private agreement.

And, if it is worth saying, it is worth signing.

Much as I would have liked to see this come back to the City Council,it is a moot point now. The Commissioners Court voted three to one against it.

The City's portion of the project was to be $1000. The plan was to allow the county to be involved to prevent a private developer from holding all the cards when the private developer stood to benefit. With the County involved, the people (citizens) benefit because John Wiley and crew were concerned about the citizens, not the developer's profits. Now, we have the Allen Group developing the infrastructure, a group that has already proven that they will do anything to benefit themselves at citizen's expense. Now we have city councilmembers that will surely profit from pushing the envelope across the desk and getting the County Commissioners to vote their very own worthwhile, beneficial project down. Who wins? Allen Group. Council Members, and the like. Congratulations.

We have already seen the Allen Group at work...First they said they were willing to help with water and infrastructure. BUT, if I am not mistaken, their rep said that was offered 2 years ago and now it is too expensive for them to handle.

They have already begun their crayfish waltz.

Wilmer's citizens will get NOTHING if the Contract for Annexation is signed with only one developer.

No Single Family and multi-family zoning...just miles and mile of warehouses and light industry. No room for families and permanent residents.

There was an offer by a citizen to pay the $1000 so Wilmer could participate in the County/NCTCOG Plan with no strings attached.

So Sad...Too Bad the Mayor(s) and Council can't see beyond their noses.

Will someone please tell me why ex-Mayor Hudson is still at City Hall and sitting in "meetings" last week and this week? JUST CURIOUS.
